I have been asked this a lot of times since childhood and to be very honest, I do not want to work at all and yet get paid. That’s what I do most of the time. Without a doubt, this has naturally developed my love for fashion, makeup, and even modeling.

Even though, I may not have the typical ‘’look’’ of a makeup artiste or have any skills in that field to begin with, well, I can always give it a try. Just because you look like a fashion stylist to me doesn't really denote you have to be one! Hello, I do have an Art background too if you are wondering. Teehee.

As we all know, music is necessary in everyone’s lives. Not only as a form of entertainment. Nevertheless, it is also a way of expressing oneself. Heck, we all sing for god sake - forgetting the people who are around us!

That's right! Similar to Channel U's Project Superstar singing competition, Music Story does have their annual talent contest in case you didn't now. Organized by Music Story, called "SING OUT!” it offers wonderful opportunities as well as a platform for new aspiring singers to participate and at the same time, enabling them to gain exposure. Unfortunately, the application for this has already closed I heard. Too bad! =(

I have no intentions of being mean but then the not so skinny ones doesn't have to worry of being stuck in a squeezy performing area because the studio is really quite spacious. Just so you know, Music Story has a courtyard PLUS a performing studio that can seat well over 60 talented students to perform at. Good enough?

Nice! The students seem to be well-behaved while our dear vocal coach is teaching.

Major cuteness! His students are all good-looking indeed!

Whether you are the kind who adores dancing everywhere in the living room on a rainy day or singing along to the radio like me, Music Story is certainly for you. In fact, Music Story has classes for all of us -- even for adults and senior citizens alike! This is way too awesome, no?

Shokudo Japanese Food!

For the Jap food lovers, this is for you.....

Have you ever felt like tasting healthy Japanese cuisines and enjoy the wide array of Japanese food without the need to travel over to Japan and still, feel Japanese? In other words, closer to home!

Trust me! Even I don't feel the need to mentally pack my luggage
(Hah! Not that I'm poor!) and be on the lookout for delicious Japanese dishes!

In case you don't know, we have SHOKUDO here in Singapore which has an interesting lineup of "never before seen" food, soups and salads
(for the super healthy ones!) as well as sweet treats. For example, Japanese Style Omelette, Rosti Sausage and Teppanyaki to even Sashimi are just a few of the dishes on the restaurant’s eclectic menu -- sounds like a fantastic dish, just nice to fill your rumbling tummy. Hah! Agreed?

SHOKUDO, is a marche themed Japanese restaurant that offers many awesome traditional Japanese foods to please and amaze the palate of locals like myself of course and also, visitors alike. Hence, you shouldn't expect all dishes here to scream "unusual and fusion"; the comfort is fixed firmly on Japanese comfort food.

SHOKUDO IS ALL ABOUT JAPANESE FOOD

Believe it or not, it was my first time to this marche and I felt like a dimwit from outerspace! Who would have thought?

**I cannot accept the fact that nobody actually come and tell me about Shokudo!! How dare you all do this to me...

I clearly do not have an idea how the foods there are like and how the interior itself looks like. So I have yet to check the place out! Thank god, I've been invited by our wonderful OMY team to sample some food and experience the finesse Japanese cuisines which is located at Heeren -- Orchard. I'm honoured!

(I will tell you that in a bit)! Also, the themed dining kinda amazed me as well. The wooden tables, chairs and some portraits which resembles Japanese culture (spotted hanging on the walls) were enough to make you feel like you're in Tokyo while you're eating. Hooray!!!

So let's get to the point, shall we?
This is our brunch spread that day........

Sakura Ebi Omelette

In case you didn't know, there were ebi (that's baby shrimp to you!) in it. Yes! The chef cleverly wrapped the omelette (with the shrimps in it) just like that of a spring roll neatly, which was then served with mayonaisse on top. I haven't had any of this in my life though. It was unique and let me tell you this. The blend of baby shrimps and egg altogether were definitely heavenly. It was neither too salty nor too sweet. It was just perfecto! This is a must try. =)

Bamboo Prawn Rice

Quite superb for its intense flavours was the Bamboo Prawn Rice with a hint of ginger and topped with a scatter of white sesames seeds which can silence an entire table of diners! The aroma of the rice was awesome. Unfortunately, I had to pass on with the rice (I don't eat rice to start with!) and instead, ate only the mushrooms and prawns. Oh boy, those prawns were really chewy to the bite. I feel like eating this with a panda or two. Haha! Who would have thought, eh?

Rosti Sausage

Meanwhile, I had strips of potato (with white cream for dipping) that were pan fired beautifully, which was then served with add-on sides like chicken sausage. Oh my, I love sausage!!! Who don't? Finally, I felt western for a second. Apparently, this dish tasted good and I'm happy.

Tsukune Yaki

On a lighter note, the roasted meatballs on a skewer will win adoration of meat lovers with their sheer juiciness and smoky aroma. Simple yet it tasted spectacular!

This is a dish that you could eat almost on its own or with just steamed rice.

Tofu Cheesecake

The dessert did leave a lasting impression; their melt-in-your-mouth Tofu Cheesecake, for example, is to die for! Who am I kidding? Trust me, I'll prolly assassinate any lucky man out there if he tries to stop me from having it. Even if he had to rob me of my virginity alright. Hah!

Basically, it's a low-fat dessert, if you will, not really that rich. To my surprise, this Tofu Cheesecake was smooth, creamy, and tart! Normally, I prefer something which is less sour but to be honest, it was horribly humid that day, so its zesty kick (strawberry topping) really did hit the spot!

What do you say?

It was indeed a pleasant and a nice dining experience. I wouldn't hesitate to settle down for lunch with my friends or return soon to give a try on their other 100 over dishes. Believe me, I will be spoilt for choice! Haha! Yes, shopping relaxes our mind indeed. For a change, why not pamper yourself (and bring along your friends) at SHOKUDO after a hard day's work for good comfort food?
